Explore Mount Stanley – Africa’s Majestic Alpine Jewel

Africa’s Majestic Alpine Jewel with Avents Safaris

Towering at 5,109 meters above sea level, Mount Stanley is the crown jewel of the Rwenzori Mountains, often dubbed the “Mountains of the Moon.” Located on the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mount Stanley is the third-highest mountain in Africa, after Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. It features glacier-clad peaks, alpine meadows, and rugged ridgelines, making it a dream destination for high-altitude trekkers and mountaineers.

Why Visit Mount Stanley?

Mount Stanley is not just about elevation—it’s about the experience. Its highest peak, Margherita, is wrapped in mist and glaciers, offering an otherworldly landscape. The climb to the summit is both challenging and rewarding, requiring physical stamina, mental strength, and a reliable guide.

Unlike more commercialized climbs elsewhere in Africa, Mount Stanley remains pristine and untouched, giving you a deeper connection with nature. Along the way, you’ll pass through lush Afro-montane forests, giant lobelia zones, and glacial valleys, encountering rare birds and primates endemic to the Rwenzoris.
