This unique safari experience combines Kenya’s world-renowned Masai Mara with Uganda’s breathtaking gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will enjoy a fly-in safari for maximum time in the wilderness, ensuring comfort and adventure as you explore Africa’s most iconic destinations. The journey begins with exhilarating game drives in the Masai Mara, where you will witness the “Big Five” and the endless savannah plains, before continuing to Uganda for a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas.
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, transfer to hotel, overnight in Nairobi.

Day 3: Full-day game drives in Masai Mara, overnight in Masai Mara.

Itineraries
Day 1
Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari representative. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi for check-in and a chance to refresh after your journey. The rest of the day is at leisure, allowing you to relax or explore Nairobi’s highlights, such as the Nairobi National Museum, local markets, or nearby craft centres. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your hotel, preparing you for the exciting adventure ahead.

Day 2
Fly to Masai Mara and Afternoon Game Drive
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport in Nairobi for your scheduled domestic flight to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s iconic wildlife reserve. Upon arrival at the Mara airstrip, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your camp, enjoying a game drive en route. This first encounter with the Mara offers a chance to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelopes against the backdrop of the golden savannah. After settling into your accommodation and having lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive to explore more of the reserve’s abundant wildlife. As the sun sets over the vast plains, return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 3
Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara
Wake up early for a hearty breakfast before embarking on a full-day game drive across the expansive Masai Mara National Reserve. The morning drive offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities, as animals are most active during the cooler hours. You will have the chance to spot the “Big Five” like lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos alongside cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and numerous antelope species. Bird enthusiasts will enjoy sightings of eagles, hornbills, and the colourful lilac-breasted roller. During the mid-day, return to your camp for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, set out for another game drive, exploring different areas of the reserve and witnessing the Mara’s breathtaking landscapes as the sun begins to set. Return to your camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on a day filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Day 4
Morning Game Drive and Fly to Entebbe, Uganda
Start your day with an early morning game drive in the Masai Mara, when wildlife is at its most active and the morning light makes for stunning photographs. Spot lions on the prowl, herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, and other wildlife amidst the rolling savannah. After the game drive, return to your camp for breakfast and check out. You will then be transferred to the Mara airstrip for your domestic flight back to Nairobi, where you will connect with your onward flight to Entebbe, Uganda. Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your lodge for an evening of rest. Depending on the flight time, you might get time to explore the botanical gardens and relaxation at the beach. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your lodge, preparing for the next leg of your adventure in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Day 5
Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, you will take a domestic flight from Entebbe to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip, depending on your gorilla trekking region. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The drive offers stunning views of terraced hills, lush valleys, and traditional Ugandan villages, giving you a sense of the country’s natural beauty and local life. On arrival at your lodge, you will check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing and soaking in the tranquil surroundings in preparation for the gorilla trekking adventure the following day. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge in Bwindi.

Day 6
Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers. You will then embark on an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure, guided by experienced trackers through the dense, misty forest. The trek can vary in duration, often lasting between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one precious hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat as they feed, play, and interact with one another. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch, rest, and reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
In the afternoon after a well-deserved lunch, you will head out to visit the Batwa community learning about their traditional way of life, music, and dance. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge, surrounded by the serene sounds of the forest.

Day 7
Fly Back to Entebbe and Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your domestic flight back to Entebbe. Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight, marking the conclusion of your 7-day Fly-in Masai Mara and Uganda Gorilla Adventure. You will depart with unforgettable memories of the iconic wildlife of the Masai Mara and the extraordinary encounter with mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
