This 3-day safari offers a rare and immersive experience with chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, the primate capital of the world. Unlike a typical chimpanzee trek, the habituation experience allows you to spend an extended period with these intelligent primates as they adapt to human presence. Guided by expert researchers and rangers, you will observe their behaviours, feeding patterns, and interactions in their natural habitat. Itineraries
Day 1
Transfer to Kibale National Park
The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Entebbe or Kampala to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. Along the way, the journey passes through beautiful tea plantations, rolling hills, and rural landscapes that offer a glimpse into local life. A stopover in Fort Portal provides an opportunity for lunch before proceeding to the lodge near Kibale. Upon arrival, check in at the reserved lodge and spend the evening at leisure, preparing for the chimp habituation experience the following day.

Day 2
Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
An early breakfast is followed by a transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on the chimpanzee habituation process. Unlike the standard chimpanzee trek, this experience allows an entire day in the forest, starting from when the chimps wake up until they build their nests in the evening. Accompanied by researchers and trackers, you will follow a chimpanzee community, observing their behaviour, vocalizations, feeding habits, and social interactions. The experience provides invaluable insight into the life of these fascinating primates. After a full day in the forest, return to the lodge for a relaxing evening.

Day 3
Transfer Back to Entebbe
After breakfast, depart from Kibale and begin the return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. The drive offers one last chance to enjoy Uganda’s picturesque scenery, with a stopover in Fort Portal or Mbarara for lunch. Arriving in Entebbe in the late afternoon or evening marks the end of the adventure, leaving lasting memories of the chimpanzee habituation experience.
