Akagera National Park is Rwanda’s only savannah park and the largest protected wetland in Central Africa. Itineraries
Day 1
Transfer to Akagera National Park and Evening Game Drive
Depart from Kigali in the morning for a scenic drive to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch while taking in the beautiful surroundings.
In the late afternoon, embark on an evening game drive, a perfect time to witness wildlife emerging as the temperatures cool. Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and possibly lions or leopards. After the drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Full-Day Game Drive and Boat Safari on Lake Ihema
Start the day with an early morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Drive through the park’s rolling plains, woodlands, and wetlands in search of the Big Five and other species, including hippos, crocodiles, and various antelopes.
After lunch at the lodge, head to Lake Ihema for a boat safari, where you’ll encounter hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species, including fish eagles and kingfishers. The boat trip offers a different perspective of the park’s rich biodiversity. Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3
Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kigali
Enjoy a final morning game drive, exploring new areas of the park for any wildlife you may have missed. Capture the last moments of Akagera’s beauty before checking out from the lodge and driving back to Kigali, arriving in the afternoon.
