This 100-acre island is home to over 50 orphaned and rescued chimps, all given a second chance at life after being saved from poaching and illegal wildlife trade.
Established in 1998 by the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT), Ngamba Island plays a crucial role in primate conservation.
